Hey, I'm Sri, a problem solver and a data professional.I grew up in Chennai and moved to the US for higher studies after my undergrad in engineering, along with my friend, to explore and seek out more opportunities. It was only after spending a few years studying and exploring that I realized how much I didn't know, and how much there is to learn in life, tech, and engineering.
Buffalo will always be my second home. I went to Velammal for my undergrad and graduated with a Master of Professional Studies in Data Science and Applications from the University at Buffalo, and have continued working across multiple data roles, both full time and as an intern, ever since.
Emptiness, for me, is the approach I take with each new domain or thing I try. I show up with an empty bowl, one that lets me fill it with whatever valuable experience or content comes from actually doing the work.
I've spent most of my experience building data warehouses, ingestion pipelines, and end to end data systems for US state government and enterprise clients, working across telecommunications, insurance, education, labor exchange and healthcare.
I love building and solving problems with simple, reliable solutions.I've taken part in a number of project fests, presentations, and hackathons over the years, and won a few. I'm genuinely proud of winning Morgan Stanley Code to Give hackathon, being a finalist at Smart India Hackathon in 2018 and 2020, and winning Design Your Destiny, a hardware hackathon, first among 5000+ teams from all over India. I try to always keep one or two active projects going, or a course I'm learning from, at any given point in time.
I like to think through how a process or architecture actually works end to end, not just the surface of it. I stay curious about new tech milestones and products, read tech blogs regularly, and end up talking about them with friends more than they probably asked for. I'm also fairly active on Twitter, where I share thoughts on things I come across or find interesting.
I enjoy going down rabbit holes in domains that aren't mine: mechanical systems, electronics, taxes, stocks, finance, geopolitics, global economics.
Out of all the innovation in tech and computer science, computer networks stand out to me as one of the best, simply because of what it enables: connecting people across the entire world. And out of every system humankind has built, I think mapping the whole world and making it searchable in milliseconds is one of the most impactful things we've done. My favorite product, hands down, is Google Maps.

I taught myself to skate in two days flat, no tricks yet, that's next. I love chess, play matches randomly on chess.com, ELO nothing to brag about, but the game never gets old. I'm on a 750+ day Duolingo streak in Spanish that I broke recently. Cricket is my sport by default, but the 2022 Copa América and my work friends Neil, Alex, Hugo pulled me into soccer, and I've been following it since. I catch F1 races when I can, and I once made a special trip to the F1 Exhibition in Toronto just to see the cars up close.
